Profile: Mrs. Florey

Lily McClain, 6th Grade

Mrs. Florey is the sixth-grade Achievers social studies teacher this year.

This is her first year at Noe middle school, and she loves it.

She said Noe is very different from other schools she has taught, but she loves her team. She said she enjoys the sixth grade girls a lot, considering she

never taught girls before, and only taught at an all boys school. But overall, she says the kids have made it a good transition.

What made Miss Florey want to be a teacher was knowing what she loved to do.

“I knew I loved working with middle-schoolers and high-schoolers,” Florey said. “And I knew I loved history, so it was the perfect combination.”

She also said that she was “never the best at history, but it was always the most interesting.”

When Mrs. Florey isn’t teaching, she loves the outdoors. She also loves coffee and talking. But most importantly, she loves and is grateful for her students.

This is Mrs. Florey’s sixth year of teaching. Over six years, she has seen some funny moments in the classroom. Like kids acting like her at the board, or trying to bribe her with money to not do the work.
