Library encourages a blind date with a book

Three seventh-graders selected as winners

NOE MIDDLE SCHOOL, FEBRUARY 27, 2026 – As you examine the books on the shelves, you just can’t seem to find the perfect one. You grab a book off the shelf so you have something to go back to class with, but you are not fulfilled with what you picked. Shouldn’t there be an easier way to find the fitting book for you?

During the past two years, Noe’s librarians hosted Blind Date With A Book during the month of February. Students can go to the library and pick up a book wrapped in cougar paw prints, a nod to the school spirit, and check out a book.

Librarian Abby Peirce has worked incredibly hard to pick out books, wrap them, and set up rules and prizes for students.

“After you finish a book, we have short review sheets that you can fill out and we put those in our valentines day box and then we are going to draw two winners to win a $10 gift card to Chick-Fil-A and a snack bag that has candy and chips in it.¨

The winners were announced Feb. 27. Seventh-graders Thomas Piatt, Landon Thomas, and Aleigha Todd were selected.

Students have enjoyed the ease of picking out books and the surprise that comes with it. Todd enjoyed exploring new books.

“I really like it because it is a very interesting way to find new books to read,” Todd said.
