LOUISVILLE, SEPTEMBER 4, 2026 – The Noe Middle School band will host a carwash fundraiser 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 12 at City Barbeque on Poplar Level Road.
The carwash is an annual band fundraiser. Like last year, the funds will help pay for the band’s trip to Orlando where they will go to Disney World and Universal Studios. The students will perform along with three other middle schools in JCPS – Kammerer Middle School, Westport Middle School and Western Performing Arts School.
Band director Linda Pulley, said her goal was to get a few hundred dollars to support the trip price. It’s gonna be a hard journey to fundraise, but she has faith that the students will get a discounted price.
The band parents of Noe Middle School shared the word on social media. Pulley made sure students spread the word. Pulley hopes lots of people will attend the fundraiser to show support toward our Noe musicians.
Disney doesn’t let just anyone participate. The band had to audition to be awarded the opportunity to go to Disney to perform. Band members will work with professional musicians.
In 2024, when the band took the students to Disney, there was a noticeable difference in how they played their instrument. According to Pulley, a year later, a majority of the students who go to work with those professionals got into the Youth Performing Arts School (YPAS) at Manuel.
City Barbeque is located at 4027 Poplar Level Road.
