Brooks has taught art at Noe for 18 years

LOUISVILLE, KY, AUGUST 25 – Samantha Brooks brings 18 years of dedication to Noe Middle School, starting as a graphic arts teacher before transitioning to visual arts. Inspired by her own experience at school, she now guides students through exciting and creative projects which reflects warmly on her long-standing career in education.
A Full-Circle Journey at Noe
She started out teaching graphic arts for her first three years. When the visual arts position finally opened up, she made the switch. This allowed her to follow her true passion for hands-on, traditional and visual creation.
Inspiring Young Artists Today
After 18 years at the school, Brooks still finds joy in the classroom every single day. She loves watching students discover their unique and creative voices through new art projects. Right now, she’s teaching her students how to make a self portrait. She focuses on helping every child feel confident, even when they try a technique for the very first time.
Why She Loves Teaching
For Brooks, the best part of her job is the energy the students bring. She believes that art class is a safe space where kids can express themselves freely and learn from their mistakes. Being part of the Noe family for nearly two decades feels like a privilege to her. She hopes to inspire the next generation of creators just like her own mentors inspired her years ago.
